This summer intensive will be taught in a traditional ‘Gurukul’ experience where the student is immersed in the practices of Yoga, Ayurveda, and Meditation at the home of the teacher.
Learn to live life transforming practices to obtain a healthy body and a spiritual mind with Yogi Cameron and Yogini Jaima at their home next to the pure ocean waters of Huntington Beach, California.
Gurukul is the home of the Guru or Yogi. It’s place of practice and solitude. A place where the energy is potent with shiva and shakti - the opposite forces of nature which run through every being.
This energy is much stronger in the Gurukul because the Yogis live and breathe the principles of love, compassion and oneness in their home. Just being in this energy is calming, healing and balancing to the nervous system and mind. It brings down the stress level and allows the senses to rest.
In this peaceful state real learning and deep understanding can happen. You will not forget the teachings because they will permeate your being. This way of teaching opens up the subtle learning channels of the body and mind, allowing intuitive learning beyond just intellectual experiencing.
Developing and perfecting your individual daily practice so you can go back home and have a personalise spiritual practice for life.
There are so many practices but only specific ones for the individual person to be able to benefit from and continue as a spiritual practice.
Your spiritual daily practice becomes your grounding to live the rest of your day in a fearless and positive manner.



Living Yoga will include:

 

Pooja-sacred rituals

We invite the higher energies to awaken within ourselves through rituals. Bindi is a symbol for the spiritual eye that is placed on the area between the eyebrows after purification practices. This helps to focus the mind from the outer objects and direct our attention to a higher awareness.

Shatkarma cleansing practices

Clearing the subtle channels of the body and mind for quicker thinking and to also clean out any toxicity which is trapped in veins around the body.  This especially includes the passage to the brain. These are done before you commence your Yogic practices.

Asana postures

Practicing postures while going through each one until you are doing them correctly and fluidly. The goal of asana is flexibility, detoxifying and creating stillness so you can sit still for the rest of the yogic practices.

Pranayama breathing

To bring the vital force of the body under the control of the mind we use various breathing methods. The breath also holds the key to calming the mind and bringing down things like the heart rate and blood pressure for better concentration and focus.

Dharana concentration

Once the mind is calm the senses will need controlling so they don’t disturb our concentration. Contemplation and focus practices of dharana will be used to take the senses from outer distractions to inner silence. 

Mantra sound vibration

Mantras are used to get the mind to be very focused and one pointed. Using sound vibrations with distinctive energies will allow the mind to prepare for deeper meditation.

Dhiyana meditation

This practice will spontaneously happen as a result of all the other practices. This is where you move beyond your mind and thoughts and into the depths of your intuition. This is where many of your deep desires and questions are fulfilled.

Ayurvedic living is a vast subject and there are many principles to health and healing.
Here you will learn how to apply the most simple but pertinent practices so you are able to manage and balance your life.
You will cover theory but mainly practical practices so you will become self sufficient in how you live at home.

Learning principles of healthy living according to your body and mind type

This will include understanding how elements constantly move and create issues in the body and how gunas affect the mind on a moment to moment bases making our thoughts and senses more hyper and intense.

Learning how to use the most potent herbs for cooking

You will  learn to use the best herbs so your digestion stays the strongest to be able to extract as much nutrition out of the food you consume. This process  of digestion is a very important one which most people have problems with. Here we will solve these problems through the intake of potent herbs..

Learning to use herbs for healing and maintaining health

Herbal medicines need to be taken into the system on a daily bases to either help heal or ward off any ailments which are building up without your knowledge. Preventative medicine is the first step in ayurvedic healing.

Learning the principles of simple, nutritious and quick cooking
As everyone is extremely busy these days cooking or eating a nutritious meal is usually compromised regularly. Here we will go through the solutions to making simple energy forming food and drinks so you can have easy to make recipes and use the same cooking method to apply to so many common dishes.

 

How to heal the root cause of many ailments
Sleeplessness, stress, digestion, immune, migraines, lack of energy, elimination issues, PMS, anxiety and ADD. Many of these issues are related to or made worse by different lifestyle choices and habits we keep. We will connect the dots to many of these common ailments and find the long-term solutions to healing them.
While at the home of Yogi Cameron and Yogini Jaima you will learn what it is to live spiritually in this world of chaos, conflict and suffering.
You will be able to see, ask questions and get the answers you need about how life can be simplified to a point that it is manageable in a realistic way. This way you to can simplify your life back home.

How to see everything in life as a spiritual practice

Once you put more focus on spiritual living, you come to the understanding that everything in your life that is happening for you (not to you), is giving you the opportunity to burn karma and live a complete life.

How to turn all life’s actions into an act of Bhakti or love.

Living by loving principles of unity come from opening the heart chakra and not the mind. The heart is the seat of the divine and love. The mind is the seat of reason and practicality. It takes yogic practices to operate out of the heart and to share love in a natural way.

How to cultivate awareness in your speech

This is so you are not only speaking the truth but never having fear of the outcome. These days people know how to be polite but not sincere and speak their truth with compassion. There is an art to being authentically real and you will learn this art throughout the weekend.

How to communicate the the Yogic way

Words are only part of communication.  There are many other ways to communicate through the use of energy. There is body language, mind connectivity and spiritual conscious downloads.

How to cultivate equal partnerships or relationships of unity and love

Relationships are the most complex interactions we have in our daily life. Here you will learn to be so comfortable with yourself that your relationships will also evolve beyond just a surface interactions or excess sensitivity.

Develop healthy daily habits

Your habits make up your whole day. Here we will discuss healthy habits and how to cultivate them while being aware of more subtle habits we might not even be aware of which are causing pain and suffering.

There is also Airbnb available in the area.

Nearest airport to the home is  John Wayne Santa Ana airport. Only 20 min form their house.

Other airports are Long Beach and LAX. These are between 30-45 min away.

Local Transportation:
All hotels recommended above are a short bicycle ride from the house and in the heart of downtown Huntington Beach should you care to extend your stay for some leisure time.

You can also rent a car if you plan on staying longer or use Uber for the few days.

After you go through the application process and you are one of the 7 attending, we will then be able to help you with the cost of the weekend intensive.
